THE STUDIO, presented by CKI, is Lexington's place to explore, condition, and achieve your goals in performance. Specializing in improvisation, stage acting, and vocal performance, THE STUDIO will connect you with professionals from right here in central Kentucky who want to help you find the performer in you.

THE STUDIO is located at 423 W Short St. in downtown Lexington.

Improv - Youth

We can learn a lot through laughter. Come and learn Chicago-style short form improv comedy. Learn to say "Yes, and" to your funny!

Open to students grades 6-12, class is held on Mondays, 5:00-6:30 PM.

A Cappella

Inspired by Pentatonix? This class provides an ensemble experience with popular music. Open to adults 18+. Class is held on Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 PM.

Improv - Adult

Want to increase your confidence? Want to get your funny on? This class is good for seasoned improvisers or beginners.

Open to adults 18+, class is held on Mondays, 7:00-8:30 PM.

Theatre Lab

Every great play started with a really great idea. Take your play from the page to the stage, as you learn how to plan, design, and produce your own original play.

No previous experience necessary.

Seeking dedicated artists and learners. 

Open to students grades 6-12, class is held on Thursdays, 5:00-6:30 PM.

Stage Acting Technique

Maybe you hear the theatre calling your name, or maybe you just want to get out of your shell and try something new. Take the stage with confidence, build character, and explore the moments you create in

Stage Acting Technique.

Open to students grades 4-8, class is held on Thursdays, 4:00-5:00 PM.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is the seamless marriage of the theatrical moment and the musical moment. Come develop your triple threat 

and nail your next audition.

Playwriting

The etymology of the word "playwright" does not refer to the "writing" of the play, but rather refers to the crafting of the play. A playwright's medium is not words only, but also the development of moment - the crafting of words and moments to tell a story. Come craft YOUR story!
