Who We Are
Heather MacDermott
Director
Heather MacDermott Baumann holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from Miami University in Ohio and has trained at La Jolla Playhouse Conservatory, Circle in the Square Theatre, and completed internships at Actors Theatre of Louisville and Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. With over 10 years of improv experience in Chicago, she trained at The Second City, iO Theater, and The Annoyance Theater. She is a founding member of Deep Schwa, the longest-running Harold team at iO, and has performed at various venues and festivals.
Jeff Sherr
Tech Director & Performer
Jeff Sherr has been with Central Kentucky Improv since the beginning. He started doing improv in high school in Lawrence, Kansas, after being inspired by a Second City Touring show. Jeff has a theater degree from the University of Kansas and studied at the National Shakespeare Conservatory. He frequently performs in Lexington, with recent roles in A Soldier's Play and American Son. As a public defender, Jeff specializes in training criminal defense teams in storytelling and improv skills.
Margo Buchanan
Performer
Margo Buchanan is an Equity actress, teacher, director, and playwright who has worked as an actor in Chicago and in regional theatres around the U.S..
Josiah Correll
Performer
During his first improv performance at the B Street Theatre in Sacramento, Josiah discovered a deep passion for the art form. He trained at top institutions like The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City and The Second City in Chicago. Over the past decade, he has taught and coached improv in cities such as New Delhi, Chicago, Houston, and Lexington. Notable performances include Escanaba in da Moonlight and While the Sun Shines, a play he co-authored
Wendy Jett
Performer
Wendy Jett is a long time fitness instructor, decoupage nerd, improv junkie and loves to write. She is also the author of the books Girl and Tainted. Books can be purchased at Accents-Publishing.com and Amazon” on my bio.
Karen Marsee
Performer
Karen has been acting since 8th grade detention, when a teacher suggested she join the drama club. Soon after, she was the first student to represent her school in drama at the Kentucky Governors’ School for the Arts. After earning a BA in Speech & Theatre Arts from EKU and another in Spanish from UK, she decided a career in theatre wasn’t her goal, but staying connected to that world has been a lifelong commitment. The former class clown has found friendship and magic in productions in every community she has lived but truly found her people when she joined Central Kentucky Improv as a founding member. Her other passion is her family. She and husband Greg, a musician, are each other’s biggest fans, and the artists love watching their two daughters, Maddie and Lily play…sports, something they never expected, but life is funny that way.
Mark Mozingo
Performer
​Mark has been working as an Equity actor for almost 20 years, performing in New York, regionally across the US, and abroad. He holds a BFA in Acting from Wright State University and an EMBA from the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. Mark was also co-founder and Associate Artistic Director of AthensWest Theatre Company, a professional theatre company based in Lexington, KY.
Louise Tallen
Performer
Louise has been a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner since 2006, and has a thriving coaching practice working with individuals, couples and non-profit groups. Louise holds a PhD in Medical and Psychological Anthropology, and brings to her coaching work the deep listening skills and radical acceptance that have facilitated her work with vulnerable populations across the United States.. She she uses improv tools with clients to help them unleash their creativity and increase their confidence.
Molly Watson
Performer
Molly earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Kentucky University and Masters of Library Science from the University of Kentucky.
After graduation, she performed as a costumed character at theme parks in Orlando, Florida, and worked for a “Sesame Street” USO show for children on military installations.
Lisa Woods
Performer
Lisa is a poet, playwright, and theatre artist who has worked in NYC, Chicago, and regionally. She holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Kentucky, an MFA in Acting from The Asolo Conservatory/Florida State University, and is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory Chicago.
Joe Cinquina
Musical Director
Joe is a bassist, composer, arranger, and private instructor. He is a graduate of the BerkLee College of Music, has a B.M. in Music Composition and a M.M. in Music Theory from the University of South Florida, and is the author of The Practical Fundamentals of Music Theory. His big band compositions have been performed by ensembles at USF and UK. Joe is also a Board Certified Massage Therapist, specializing in orthopedic massage for complicated medical conditions.
